“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” - Nikola Tesla.
EPCs provide homeowners, tenants and buyers with information on the energy efficiency of properties. They give homes a standard energy efficiency rating from ‘A’ to ‘G’, where ‘A’ is the most efficient. EPCs are rated using the same calculations for all homes so the energy efficiency of different properties can be compared. Part of the EPC is a report which shows the potential rating a home could achieve if recommended changes are made. A property could then become more attractive for sale or rent by making it more energy efficient. The report shows:
·    Suggested improvements, such as fitting insulation, and the approximate cost.
·    How this may change the energy rating of a property.
·    Possible cost savings if the improvements are made.
This information can be used to:
·    Help vendors and tenants choose a more energy efficient home to buy or rent.
·    Lower fuel bills by improving energy performance in a home.
·    Help cut carbon emissions.
